Parenting a child or children with a disability is one of the most rewarding and often isolating experiences a family can face. The systems are complex, the emotional weight is real, and finding people who truly understand can feel nearly impossible. Our Family Connection Groups are a structured support program designed to bring those families together. It is not therapy, it's a facilitated space where parents can exhale, share what's hard, celebrate what's going well, and leave feeling encouraged and supported by others who understand.

Current Schedule: 1st, 3rd, and 5th Saturdays at Abiding Presence Lutheran Church in Burke, VA.

Before the Meeting: Upon arrival, members will get to enjoy a snack and a drink, and to socialize freely with others from our group and other groups meeting that day. We will also occasionally have resource connections available for consultation.
During the Meeting: This structured time is dedicated to building community. Members will introduce themselves, share both victories and struggles, and connect with helpful resources and other families who have similar experiences. We aim to create a thriving, understanding community for every family through facilitated discussion.
Beyond the Meeting: All members will also have exclusive access to the Family Connection Vault on our website, allowing the community connection to continue outside of our scheduled meeting times.
