My Story
Welcome — I'm so glad you're here. I believe everyone can grow their own healthy, organic food, no matter how much time or space they have.
I grew up on a small farm in Africa, where no herbicides, pesticides, or synthetic fertilizers were used— just composted manure and time-tested natural methods. Eating fresh food straight off the trees and bushes as a child shaped a lifelong love of eating the freshest tastiest food that's stayed with me ever since.
Since then, I've gardened across three countries and three very different climates: a small plot in South Africa, larger gardens in the UK, and now a quarter-acre here in Canada. Wherever I've planted roots, the same principle has held true — work with nature, not against it, and you'll spend less time fighting your garden and more time enjoying it.
Alongside gardening, I trained as a nurse, midwife, and psychiatric nurse, and completed a Master of Science, including conducting my own original research. That background shapes everything I teach — I bring you evidence-based methods, not gardening myths, explained in plain, practical language.
I also know what it's like to garden around a demanding career. Balancing full-time work in healthcare with growing my own food is exactly what led me to focus on time-saving, low-maintenance techniques — because if a method doesn't hold up for someone with a packed schedule, it's not worth teaching.
Today, gardening is still where I unwind. There's nothing quite like a freezer and pantry full of food you grew yourself — and I'm here to help you experience that same satisfaction, no matter your schedule or space.
