Leisa Watkins is a chronic illness warrior and the founder of Cultivate An Exceptional Life.
Getting through tough times is my superpower.
A short time ago, my daughter and I were finally starting to recover from an automobile accident. Someone, going over 90 miles per hour was paying more attention to his phone, than the traffic signals. He slammed into our car, forever changing our lives, when our world majorly changed once again.
Fourteen months later, my husband was diagnosed with Non-Hodgkins lymphoma cancer. Three days later I was diagnosed with multiple sclerosis, which added to several chronic illnesses and the PTSD I had been dealing with for years. Another child was laid in intensive care that week as well.
By then, I was no longer a stranger to tough times and took these in stride. You see, at our home, we deal with nearly 30 diseases daily. I’ve lived with Epstein Barr, Fibromyalgia, Chronic Fatigue Syndrome, Lyme Disease, Dysautonomia, Ether-Dahlors Syndrome, Multiple Sclerosis. and more. Besides the health-related issues, I’ve faced bankruptcy, rape, stalking, 4 automobile accidents, loss of pregnancies (9 of them), and helped my family navigate their challenges.
Life can present us with various obstacles and hurdles. I believe that with the right mindset, strategies, and support, you can thrive and create a fulfilling life. I am on a mission to help you cultivate an exceptional life, despite the challenges placed on your path. I share stories from my life, research I find promising about various chronic illnesses, information on how I get through things, and my quest to cultivate an exceptional life – despite the trials life throws in our path.
