Hey T.L.,
Remember how I’ve been telling you about how I’ve been working on something big?
I promised I'd let you know when I’m finally ready to announce it right?
Well, today is that day.
You ready?
I am incredibly excited, proud, and grateful to announce this release 💙.
C.I.A.R. isn’t just another random ‘online course’ to add to the noise of post-pandemic, overnight-guru, quick-fix courses.
This is my life’s work.
Based on my personal and professional grapples, experiences, highs and lows and everything in between on my journey as a global independent, musician and educator amidst continents for over 25 years.
They say, the best teachers are the ones who have struggled the most.
My struggles have equipped me to help others make their own transformations.
From a 15 yr-old morbidly obese teenager with an eating disorder and suicidal mental health, to a confident healthy adult doing what he loves between global metropolitans.
But there’s something more significant about C.I.A.R that sets it apart.
It was built by an entire community!
Students, mentors, collaborators, BETA testers, podcast guests.
People who have not just been part of the journey, but actually built this course with me.
I am so extraordinarily proud of and grateful to them all! I know this sounds corny but I actually get a little emotional when I think about this.
Some of these folks have been working with me for years now, sharing their deepest and most vulnerable struggles and fears. (Some of you are even reading this).
Doing the inner work with me. Helping me create a framework of timeless solutions.
Solutions that we went on to try out, implement, and succeeded in!
This process wasn’t just theoretical: it was used in real life.
These steps helped me and the community confirm how important and effective this information was. And that these approaches actually work in the real world!
But I get ahead of myself. Let’s talk a little about your story, cos’ I have a question for you first.
Have you ever had that one musician ‘friend’? The one who you know is incredibly talented at their art, but seems clueless about how to build a successful career with it on their own terms?
A ‘struggling artist’? Grappling constantly with self-doubt? Doom-scrolling to depression? Frustrated about finances while chasing arbitrary concepts of ‘success’? Without actually doing the inner work to figure out what that even means?
This ‘friend’ might have even have finished a college-level education.
Or invested large sums of money into getting good at their craft. Be it singing, playing an instrument, or performing.
See that’s just the thing. Music education has always been about people telling us how to get ‘good’ at music.
We get taught to have our entire lives revolve around it. Dedicate our blood, sweat, and tears in our formative years to achieve this mythological status of a ‘talented’ or ‘good’ artist.
Encouraged by music teachers, ‘experts’ and peers. Family, friends. All of whom have their rightful place in the equation by the way.
But sometimes we can get pretty caught up trying not to let these people down. Fulfill their ‘expectations’. Without even asking ourselves whose vision we are fulfilling.
And then, next thing you know ‘ploop’: we get dropped into the real world.
And then we gasp and gurgle and fight to keep our heads above the water without drowning in a sea of toxic competition, information overload, and peer pressure.
Now, survival feels like our best bet. And the rest...well that's where things get interesting.
So here's my question again: have you met that ‘friend’?
Cos, I definitely have.
And in case you hadn't realized already, I’ve been that ‘friend’ too (shocker!).
But I have had a few real-life (non-imaginary) friends who fit that description very closely as well.
Sad but true.
There’s good news though 👇🏼
Good News 1: We are not alone.
Many independent artists (in fact, most of them) struggle with navigating the current industry.
They may be very talented artists. With much beauty and art to share. But have no idea how to actually go about it.
Reach their audiences.
Build a profile. A brand.
Achieve financial health.
All while staying true to themselves and maintaining their well-being without burning out.
So, I'm asking you again: you ever met that ‘friend’? Been that 'friend'?
(Be honest. This is a safe space. And you only need to answer yourself).
Good News 2: C.I.A.R. was designed specifically to help this friend
When I was 17, I asked my mentor what I needed to do to build a career as a musician. His cryptic and somewhat dramatic answer was '...no matter what'. And to be fair that's all he had.
So over the next 20 years, I did just that, Whatever it took.
It came with a price though. And I promised myself that if I ever 'made it', I would do my bit to help others get there too.
I learnt the hard way.
So you don't have to.
That's why I created C.I.A.R.
This comprehensive program will equip you with the knowledge and tools to:
- Craft a clear vision for a music career in the 21st century
- Develop a powerful brand that resonates with our audience
- Master the art of self-promotion and PR without feeling dirty
- Master tha art of collaboration

- Prioritize self-care and avoid burnout
Right now.
I can't wait to welcome you inside.
Sincerely,
T.L.
