We are the children of survival who remembered how to dance.
We are the healers who turned our pain into poetry,
our rage into rhythm,
our grief into gardens.
We gather not to perform perfection,
but to practice presence.
In the Liberating Joy Collective,
we don’t chase the light, we embrace and seek to embody it.
We honor the dark too, because that’s where the seeds germinate,
where the ancestors whisper, and where real transformation begins.
We come together as beings, visionaries, creatives, and caregivers, and people who have been told we were too much, too little, too quiet, too loud, too sensitive, too queer, too Black, too not Black, too different and we say: too divine to deny.
Here, healing is not linear.
It spirals, it sings, it sobs, it soars.
Here, joy is not escapism.
It’s rebellion and a declaration that despite the systems designed to drain us, we still create, connect, and celebrate.
We rise in rhythm.
We rest on purpose.
We build sanctuaries where our spirits can breathe again.
We are Liberating Joy, together.
Because liberation without community is just survival in prettier clothes.
And we came to thrive.

About the Liberating Joy Collective
Liberating Joy Collective is a healing and creative ecosystem — part sanctuary, part school, part revolution — co-founded by Phoenix Rainbow Butterfly, Doreen Lewis, and Angela Small, whom are all devoted to building spaces where people can heal, learn, and rise in harmony.
This Collective was born from a question:
What if healing wasn’t lonely?
What if joy was a shared practice, not a private achievement?
From that question, a community idea was birthed— a multifaceted and evolving sacred place for those reclaiming themselves after burnout, trauma, or societal oppression.

- Coaching grounding (liberation psychology, womanist and decolonial frameworks)
- Spiritual expansion (Afro-Indigenous, Vedic, and mystic traditions)
- Creative expression (art, writing, storytelling, embodiment, music, ritual)
