My First 75 Hard Experience
Accomplishing 75 Hard has been one of the most rewarding experiences I’ve taken on in a long time. What started as a challenge to test my discipline quickly turned into something much deeper. Over the past 75 days, I built a rhythm of daily habits that carried me through the heart of winter in a way I never expected.
Instead of dreading the cold, I leaned into it. Early morning runs, bundled-up walks, and outdoor workouts became part of my daily routine. In many ways, this challenge made winter enjoyable. Rather than waiting for spring, I was outside living life every single day.
The biggest surprise has been how natural these habits now feel. The workouts, the reading, the hydration, the planning—it all moved from something I had to think about to something that simply became part of who I am. Consistency has a way of doing that. When you show up long enough, the discipline becomes your identity.

Now that day 75 is here, I find myself asking a new question: why stop?
With my second marathon coming up on April 25th, I’m seriously considering continuing these habits until race day. Maybe I’ll celebrate crossing the finish line with a glass of wine… but maybe not. At this moment, I feel joyful, energized, and incredibly accomplished. When something is creating that much positive momentum, it’s hard to imagine walking away from it.

What I do know is this: the next 75 days will include a few additional small habits that will become non-negotiable. Because if this journey has taught me anything, it’s that simple daily habits—done consistently—can completely change the way you live your life.
