Whoa…
3+ years in the making doesn’t even begin to describe the process. The investments, the experiences, the depth of education and training I put myself through, to be able to be here and MEAN WHAT I SAY when I say this is revolutionary, there’s nothing like it, and it is going to Level Up everything, is more than words can convey. After months of contemplation, I still sat here for a week straight, going back and forth, trying to figure out the price for this…and in the process almost didn’t even offer it. And it’s because I know the shift it’s about to create. And full transparency it’s grappling with all I invested in developing it, while also wanting to share it, make it accessible for the growth of Turn Up, but more specifically for those also ready to invest in a bigger way.
The level of commitment to not only becoming the version of me that could lead it, innovating the way it’s crafted, but refining it in a way that transforms 10x more efficiently with 10x more purpose, structure, and opportunity to RUN with it is special, and I want to build this with the ones who are committed to betting on themselves, the process, and Turn Up in their evolution as well. At the same time, I already know that no matter how hard I have worked, Turn Up doesn’t work without you. Turn Up isn’t Turn Up without the leadership you’re building in yourself, the standards you’re raising for yourself and your squad, the way you’re taking it all and making it your own.
I SEE YOU and YOUR hard work and dedication to your growth. I want to do this with you duh lol. Like this is gonna be HUGE and if you are a Turn Up instructor who has been doing the damn thing, developing yourself and your skills, showing the heck up, and serving your community, I KNOW you feel this, and know that this is made FOR YOU, there’s no question…
I did however question this thang A LOT, wayyyy too much lol. And I was mad at myself for it, but now that I’ve worked through it, I am so proud and thankful that I took my time. I questioned the actual process itself but more than anything, I questioned myself and my capacity to deliver. All the logical reasons—the responsibility and commitment it takes along with the limiting stories like….I didn’t grow up dancing, I don’t have a dance background, blah blah. The flashbacks of doubt consumed me in ways that brought be right back to first drafts of writing the Turn Up dance fitness manuals. And that’s when I realized the skills I built from scratch are part of what makes this training so potent and special. I know what it feels like to know nothing, to feel out of place, yet completely obsessed with trying, and wanting it more than anything. I understand the importance of every step I took, the feelings of fear that held me hostage, the disappointments that crushed me, the growth and power moments that made it all worth it, every mistake I made, everything I did and didn’t need to do in order to build myself into not just a dancer that isn’t afraid to own the Stage, but a woman standing in her power willing to play big… I took notes, and I am STILL living it and STILL LIVING FOR IT.
There’s nothing like teaching a turn up dance fitness class to me, but this format has literally 10x’d my love Turn Up and the experience it creates for the class, and vice versa. This format is nothin without Turn Up. They compliment each other in ways I never saw comin…
The other piece of this training that makes it so potent is the fact that I grew up playing basketball and coaching basketball. Wait what? We all know what separates Turn Up is our mentality and determination to COACH rather than just instruct. And when I tell you, the ones who own this, consistently work on this, and GET THIS are RARE BREEDS, not just in Turn Up land, but in the land of teaching as a whole. We are different because of the way we turn individuals showing up for their workout into teammates refusing to settle for less and reminding each other who they are and what they actually came for….
The coach in us is what takes Turn Up Dance Fitness from workout to LIFESTYLE.
And it’s why the past 3 years of studying the craft of those teaching breakdown classes and trial and erroring the curation of my own, I notice the things that are done/not done that most have no idea make ALL the difference. I remember hosting a dance teacher at conference a couple years ago and after she broke down the choreo she asked me to be the one to lead the curation of group performances…and that was a big moment for me. Cuz it not only takes a certain passion, a certain presence to see the room throughout the breakdown and turn it into the showdown, but to be the person who coaches through that process and does the little things to AMPLIFY the energy in those moments AND leave room for magic…it’s what the world is missing and craving right now, honestly. And we already do it, now it’s 10xing it and using it from a different angle.
I questioned it all though still for a few reasons, but these two reasons specifically: I didn’t want it to takeaway from Turn Up and be a way for us as a team to skip steps in what Turn Up needs, I didn’t want to just do it because I knew we would all be excited about it, I needed us to all understand the capacity it takes to lead turn up before anything and I wasn’t sure at the time that I had done my job in getting us there….and lastly, I couldn’t quite see how it fit…
AKA—> I was vv scared.
Cuz today as I type this, when I tell you I have gone 800 different directions with why it couldn’t work in my head, I couldn’t get away with any of it…and I tried haha. The reality is this ish is going to AMPLIFY every single aspect of our Turn Up Dance Fitness classes from the connection it will build within our communities, to the confidence it will instill, and the depth of knowledge that they will be able to take from these classes and use to POP OFF in Turn Up class and get EVEN more out of each choreo and rep. It’s the connection and the challenge we’ve all been preparing for without even realizing it….
The energy from Turn Up class will 10x the experience of the Stage, and the energy from the Stage will 10x the energy in Turn Up class.
They each bridge the gap for each other. The ying to each other’s yang if you will…lol
And don’t even get me started on the way it will amplify us, as Turn Up instructors. The way we will be able to curate bigger, deeper relationships with our classes, the way we will be able to do that with OURSELVES as students AND leaders in the process. The way it will help our cueing and coaching in Turn Up classes because of not only our own understanding and foundation, but from witnessing our people in real time and seeing what they need. The breakthroughs that we will be able to hold space for…
AND NOT TO MENTION, the ways we will be able to serve in different containers that build our voices, save our bodies, and curate experiences that can be built from this level of coaching when it comes to the endless potential to even further develop your own brand and business.
If you would have told me 4, 5 years ago, shoot, even 3 years ago that this would be a thing I even wanted to do let alone put out into the world lol, I would have said NO MF WAY, that’s a joke. Haha. And then I would have screamed of excitement, and gone even harder so I could get to this moment quicker lol.
So here we are, I see it so clearly now. But I know this first founding class is going to take us places I don’t even see yet. So we’re gonna do this together, as we always do, and Turn things up a whole nothaaaa notch, really lock in this foundation to build upon before hard launch it to the world.
Turn Up 2026 —> BIGGER
The world needs more of your authentic presence, heart, and leadership.
Our classes are asking us to go deeper, they want to put in the work.
And more than ever, we both need and lack REAL connection…to ourselves and each other.
From the outside looking in, it’s another pillar of our dance fitness program…
From the trenches looking out, it’s the vessel that transforms us into the version of us that becomes the answer we thought we were looking for.
So here we gooooo
A choreography breakdown class created by turn up that intentionally curates a special journey that takes specific elements of skill development, and of performance mastery as the tools, as a practice, as THE VESSEL, for the evolution of self-discovery, self-mastery, embodiment, connection, and expression, movement…dance.
The experience is like none other, but the mission is the same: the ritual, the practice, the philosophy of liberating ourselves from our own limitations, movement is more than an 8 count, more than a workout, more than a song, it’s a declaration, a story, a reclamation.
The next level in our evolution of embodiment, sisterhood, in the celebration of flipping the script.
It’s Our playground for PLAYING BIG.
While others may see the stage as a curated structure/platform where we can rehearse becoming dancers and performers, we know it’s the RITUAL of unbecoming everything that taught us to hide from the power of our own presence in the telling of our own story.
While others may see the stage as a curated platform, the actual first definition of the stage is: a point, a period, a distinct step in the process of development. And to go even deeper, the origin of the word stage was derived from the Latin word ‘stare’ which means TO STAND…
And at this stage in the process (see what I did there)…I am going to assume you’re picking up what I am putting down.
We are STANDING on business, STANDING tall, grounding ourselves in our own essence, and rewriting the narrative each and every time we get the opportunity to celebrate the different stages of mastery within our own creative expression.
We are here to heal ourselves and stop hiding.
And we are here to clap for a room that courageously and purposefully holds space to open ourselves up to fully see ourselves, and in turn be fully seen.
We aren’t just here to be seen though, we are here to make the world feel something, to tell our story and leave our mark.
And so it begins…
