Both courses run for eight weeks and will be available in in-person and virtual formats. (NeuroBears Virtual is coming soon). You can enroll in the course that best matches your current needs.
Course 01

'Your Plan, Your Power' Self Advocacy Course

Students with IEPs and 504 plans are entitled to supports; but research consistently shows that students who understand and can articulate their own accommodations are far more likely to use them effectively.
This course bridges that gap. Students will:
  • Gain a practical understanding of what IEP and 504 accommodations actually mean
  • Learn how to identify which supports work best for them
  • Learn how to communicate their needs to educators with clarity and confidence
Participants leave with a personalized self-advocacy script, multiple strategies for making accommodation requests across different settings, and a clear plan of action if a request is denied.

Supports: confidence and embracing their disability and accommodation.  Promotes collaborative efforts in implementation.
Course 02

NeuroBears Course- Understanding Your Autistic Experience

This eight-week course is designed to strengthen a young persons understanding of their own neurology and autistic experience.
In this strength based model, we will cover a wide range of topics that include (but are not limited to):
  • Autism Myths
  • Overwhelm, meltdown, and shutdown
  • Autistic Communication
  • Autistic Masking
  • Spoon Theory and Burnout
  • Autism Sensory Experience
Students will leave this course empowered to recognize their strengths, needs, and differences and have the language to explain what helps them.
We aim to help them feel safer being themselves and instill self advocacy skills.
Targeted for (but not limited to) ages 8-14

Why These Courses Make a Difference
