Cellulite: What it really is and 7 natural ways to improve it!

Cellulite: What it really is and 7 natural ways to improve it!

Cellulite is actually more of a connective tissue issue than a fat issue. The fibrous bands of connective tissue beneath the skin pull downward while fat pushes upward, creating that dimpled appearance. Because of that, there isn’t a quick fix, but there are several things that can help improve the appearance over time with consistency.

Here are the things I personally do:

• Dry brushing –  It stimulates circulation, encourages lymphatic drainage, and gently exfoliates the skin. While it won’t remove cellulite, it may improve skin texture and reduce temporary fluid buildup.Check out my blog on how to dry brush and the benefits here!

 • Rebounding – The up-and-down motion helps move lymphatic fluid, improves circulation, and supports healthy connective tissue by getting your whole body moving.

• Vibration plate – This increases circulation, activates muscles, and may help improve muscle tone underneath the skin, making cellulite less noticeable over time.

• Red light therapy – Red and near-infrared light support collagen production, improve circulation, and may help strengthen the skin and connective tissue, which can soften the appearance of cellulite with regular use.

• Eccentrics connective tissue workouts – These are fantastic because they gently lengthen and strengthen the fascia and connective tissue. Since cellulite involves connective tissue, keeping those tissues healthy and mobile is something I believe is very important.

 • LimeLife Dew Confidence Body Oil – Nourishing oils can help keep skin hydrated and supple. Well-hydrated skin often looks smoother, although topical products alone won’t change the underlying connective tissue.

I also think nutrition plays a big role. Eating plenty of protein provides the building blocks for collagen, staying hydrated keeps tissues healthy, strength training builds muscle underneath the skin, and reducing inflammation through a whole-food diet can all support healthier connective tissue.

The biggest key is consistency. Cellulite develops over years, so improving it takes time. I look at it as supporting the health of the skin, fascia, muscles, and connective tissue from multiple angles rather than searching for one miracle treatment.

Benefits of Dry Brushing

Benefits of Dry Brushing

Have you heard of dry brushing?

If you know me, I'm doing everything I can to help my lymphatic system.  Dry brushing is just one of things I do and have been doing for  ten years and find it very beneficial to not only making my skin softer, but for my health, too.

What is Dry Brushing?
A body massage with a dry, stiff-bristled brush that’s said to help get rid of flaky skin, increase circulation, detoxify, help digestion, and even improve the appearance of cellulite.

How do you use a Dry Brush?
Buying a long-handle brush is helpful for tough-to-reach areas like your back, but not necessary for other areas.

What are the benefits?
Dry brushing helps unclog pores and excrete toxins that get trapped beneath the skin. Another benefit of dry brushing is that it’s similar to massage in decreasing stress, which is great for your health by eliminating anxiety.

Use this chart to understand your lymphatic pathways and where you need to push the toxins to release.
When should I do this?
The best time to do dry brushing is before you take your shower when your skin is dry and without any lotions or oils on it.

How often should I do this?
I think it's best to make it part of your routine before you shower.  In the wintertime, I do it about four times a week when I'm in the sauna. I do it immediately before I start sweating.  Then I shower after being in the sauna.  In the Summer, I am not as consistent because the sauna is not part of my routine. My greatest advice is to make a plan and set it into action, whether it be once a week or once a day, but try to get it in once a week on the day you really want to lotion up or oil up your body to keep from getting dry.  It feels so invigorating and absolutely makes you feel good, so it's just so wonderful to have it as part of your routine.

Can I dry brush with sensitive skin?
I would skip over the face and areas where there is open skin rashes, warts, sores, or burns and stop if you develop inflamed or irritated skin.

What is the best thing to do after dry brushing?
Dry brushing exfoliates your skin removing dead skin cells, so I highly recommend shower time afterward and then following up with your favorite lotion and/or oil.  I would love to show you my absolute healing, healthy, and hydrating oil and lotion that I use on my body daily and weekly.

Where can I get a Dry Brush?
I suggest a reputable wellness company that already has organic healthy options.

Meet Charity L Ingleright

As my precious gift from God, a three-week-old baby, was burning up and struggling to breath, I was at my breaking point.  I didn’t want this life for my infant, one that I remember so well growing up. All the missed events because I didn’t feel well.  I was always struggling with allergies, low energy, migraines, sickness, and I didn’t want that life for my children.  I had accepted the lie that it was normal to feel that way, but I wanted to take a stand for my baby.  How in the world could my three-week-old child be sick already?  I made an appointment with a holistic doctor for the first time and that moment changed my life forever.  My eyes were opened to a whole new revelation that I had never heard of before.                       FOOD IS MEDICINE!  She taught me all about food.  What you eat affects how you feel.  I came home and cleaned house, meaning out with the old and in with the new.  It was a very dramatic, but exciting time to find hope for all my struggles. I was willing to give it a try for my family.  It was one of the most rewarding and life-changing things I have ever done for me and for those who called me mother.

Do you need help with the way you feel?  Are you tired of being sick and tired?  I have spent 16 years researching and have put in the hard work for you.  I can help change your circumstances.  I’m so thankful God opened my eyes to the way He designed life to be.  Are you ready for a positive change and energetic life?
