FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS
A coach is like a mirror that reflects your ambitions and potential. When you try to achieve something new, you want someone with you on the journey, and preferably a guide who can take you from where you are now to where you want to be. To a coach, your goals are all that matter and their job is focused on taking you to where you want to be.
I will say this until my lips turn blue:
CONTEXT IS MORE IMPORTANT THAN CONTENT.
A multicultural approach recognizes the diverse backgrounds, experiences, and perspectives of individuals, especially within the context of personal and professional development. You are made up of all of your experiences and each experience carries the context of the culture you come from. We know this and implement it as a part of our practice.
We ensure that coaching strategies are relevant, inclusive, and respectful of different cultures. When you better understand the context in which your mind operates, YOU start to see how you are influenced by your experiences. This can give you more choices and help clarify how to get on the path of success for you.
A multicultural approach fosters a safe and inclusive environment where you can freely express yourself. It allows you to explore your unique cultural influences and challenges, which lead to more tailored and impactful coaching experience. You don’t have to spend hours trying to explain yourself or find yourself being misunderstood because our coaches are aware that you may have an “unAmerican” cultural value and norm that does not align with your competing identities and roles.
Our priority is to provide the best possible service to our coaching clients and in this case, we believe there might be people that do not align with our own mission and values. We focus on coaching multicultural individuals, that is where we shine. However, if you are not open, willing, and vulnerable this may not be the best fit. We will let you know after our discovery call if we believe you need to consult with a coach who could better align with your specific requirements. (We know many and are happy to provide referrals!)
We as coaches are here to guide you towards a better sense of self- awareness. In our sessions we examine how our cultural backgrounds can influence our thoughts, behaviors, and beliefs.
When you are more self-aware, this can provide you an opportunity for you to make conscious choices aligned with your unique values.
