Healing From Trauma With God’s Help
Day 2 : Trusting God’s Plan
Scripture Focus: Jeremiah 29:11 NLT
“For I know the plans I have for you,” says the Lord. “They are plans for good and not for disaster, to give you a future and a hope.”
Good Morning My Resilient Sister…
This morning, I want you to pause for a moment…
Look at where you are right now.
Look at everything you’ve been through.
Look at the pain you’ve survived.
Have you ever asked yourself…
“If God loves me so much… then why did I have to go through so much?”
That’s a real question that many of us with trauma wrestle with.
It’s a question that pain can scream louder than faith.
But can I tell you something today that trauma doesn’t want you to realize?
Trauma may have happened TO you… but it never changed God’s plan FOR you.
Let’s Be Honest… Trauma Makes It Hard To Trust God.
When you’ve been hurt deeply…
When you’ve been abandoned, rejected, abused, forgotten…
When you’ve prayed and it still happened…
It’s hard to believe that God still has good plans for your life.
It’s hard to trust God’s plan when pain made you believe there was no plan at all.
But This Is Why Jeremiah 29:11 Matters So Much In Your Healing Journey.
Because this scripture is God reminding YOU — His daughter — that your trauma didn’t catch Him by surprise.
God never planned your pain — but He always planned your healing.
Jeremiah 29:11 reminds us that even when life felt out of control — God was still in control.
Even when people failed you — God never stopped thinking about you.
Even when trauma made you feel lost — God never lost sight of you.
Sis, Trusting God’s Plan Helps Heal Our Trauma Because…
→ It gives us something trauma can’t take from us — HOPE.
→ It tells us that what we went through does not have to define us — God does.
→ It reminds us that there is life after pain, purpose after heartbreak, joy after sorrow, and beauty after brokenness.
This Scripture is an Anchor For Your Soul.
When your mind says “I’ll never heal from this” — God says “I have plans to heal you.”
When your heart says “This ruined me” — God says “This will refine you.”
When life says “This is the end” — God says “This is just the beginning.”
How Do We Use This Scripture To Overcome Trauma?
- Start seeing your life through God’s eyes — not your pain’s eyes.
Pain looks at your past.
But God looks at your future.
- Pray Jeremiah 29:11 daily until your spirit believes it.
“Lord, remind me today that You still have plans for me — plans for good, for peace, for purpose.”
- Stop letting trauma tell you who you are.
Trauma says you’re broken — God says you’re becoming.
Trauma says you’re forgotten — God says you’re chosen.
Trauma says you’ll always hurt — God says healing is here.
Today I Challenge You To Ask Yourself…
- Have I allowed my trauma to shape my identity more than God’s word?
- What would my life look like if I really trusted God’s plan for me?
- Am I willing to believe that my story isn’t over — it’s being rewritten by the hands of God?
Affirm This Boldly Today Sis:
“My life still has purpose.”
“My story is not over.”
“God’s plan for me is good.”
“I trust God to heal what trauma tried to destroy.”
“Jeremiah 29:11 is my reminder that I have a future and a hope.”
Closing Encouragement:
Sis, you’ve survived the worst of your past — now it’s time to start trusting God for the best of your future.
You are not forgotten.
You are not disqualified.
You are not too damaged.
You are still in God’s plan.
And He’s not done with you.
Today’s Prayer:
“Father, help me to trust Your plan even when I don’t understand it. Heal the places in me that trauma has tried to control. Remind me that You have not forgotten me — You have plans for me — plans for good, not disaster. Teach me to trust You with my whole heart and lead me into the future You have prepared for me. In Jesus’ Name, Amen.”
