Today is Stepmother’s Day! If you are a stepmom, this is your day to celebrate and be celebrated. Help spread the word! It is not a highly recognized holiday but is official in the United States. We celebrate Stepmother’s Day the day after Mother’s Day.

Mother’s Day For Stepmoms (and other “sort of” moms)


As a church girl, I know there are two days of service that are pretty predictable. One is Easter Sunday: a beautiful service full of hope and rejoicing, where we celebrate the ressurrection of Jesus Christ. The other one is Mother’s Day. The routines may vary slightly but the idea is the same: honour all mothers with an extravagant gesture meant to make up for the hours of (mostly thankless) work done the rest of the year. Sometimes the mothers get a rose (or a daisy) delivered by shiny young men with bright smiles.

Now Is All We Have Now Is All We Have


It is New Year’s Eve tonight. In just over two hours, it will be a new decade. It has been twenty years since we experienced the angst-causing panic of Y2K. There have been a plethora of changes in the last twenty years, since we changed not just decades, but centuries. In some ways, our world is almost unrecognizable.
